Literature Text

Joe when I saw you on the moving screen
I only wanted to see you in pain.
But now seeing you between the covers,
I desire a much different punishment vein

To take a crooked blade,
And jam it into your good eye,
That would bring me joy,
As you beg to die.

For years you attacked young jack
For little more than a jelousy attack
But the tables turned and took your eye
But your evil did not die

But he found what all men seek
A joyus, happy life.
With friend a many,
And a ‘little singer’ to be a wife

But your shadow was cast
With a vile retched stink
And your plan was hatched
To keep this happiness his last

A battle of wits?
Don’t make me laugh
Your battle was nothing more than bits
Of lies and tricks and other falsities

As the pages of the book turned
I begged for a proper end
For Miss Arcadia to return
To jack’s arms once again

But because of you, your lies, your evil
No longer did she see him.
Because of you, your ego and your vile
For jack we sing a funeral hymn

I only wish I could see the day
Though far or soon it be
That your past evils you push away
Meet you at the end

On that date, your fate is sealed
And hope and life you will clench.
The only thing I want to see,
The rippers blade in your flesh

Okay, for those of you who couldn’t put it together, this is a poem written about the main antagonist of Jack and the Cuckoo Clock Heart/The Boy with the Cuckoo Clock Heart. Now, I hate many many villains. Really do. But Joe, after reading the book, sticks in my side more so than ANYONE. Won’t complain here for those who didn’t read the book but would like to (Which is something I very much recommend), but needless to say, for every evil drop in Joe in the movie, Joe from the novel has a gallon of it. So, since we have this evil bastard, I decided to write a poem about him. Hope you enjoyed it.
